As
a part of the Wild Life Week, a Birding camp was organised in
Van Vihar National Park on October 1, 2006. Participants assembeled
in the early hrs of the day were welcomed by Mr J. S. Chouhan,
Director VVNP who also introduced the resource persons. After
initial introduction and registration of the participants, group
proceeded from Vihar Veethika towards the aviory for birding.

Participants,
about 40 were divided into groups and each group had a resource
person who provided information to the members. Participants also
were made aware about the ecosystem, nature and environment as
a whole along with birding that included spotting a bird, knowing
about its name, its characteristic features etc. Participants
also enjoyed the companionship of senior birders like Mr MS Khan
and Mr Safiullah Khan.
Program
concluded with a healthy discussion on how to make people aware
about environment, to sensitize them towards nature, birds, animals,
plants and all forms of life. To make people think about conservation,
importance of floura, fauna and ecosystem in totality.
