This
time BhopalBirds was on its mission to seek new birding sights.
Chidikhoh is situated about 80 kms from Bhopal approachable by
NH 12. Chidikhoh comes under Narsingarh Sanctuary in the district
of Raisen. It is one of the important ecotourism destinations
of Madhya Pradesh known for bird shaped natural lake and covers
about 22 hectares area. It has a rich flora and fauna.

Starting
from the backyard of guest house, a gathering of Yellow legged
green pigeon was seen. Soon a treepie arrived in the guest house.
By following the nature trail many bird species were seen like
pigeon, parakeets, barbets, iora etc. Brown headed barbet was
busy collecting its food in a large peepal tree. About ten spot
billed ducks were busy in the lake along with little cormorants.

Looking
at the rich biodiversity of Chidikho and the habitat it provides,
possibility of the existence of more bird species cannot be ignored.
