Birds that migrate not so long distance but between different states or area are called Local migratory  or Resident Migratory birds. These birds dont cross countries in search for food or forage but travel across to different areas for better feeding grounds for some part of the year.

Like Sarus cranes flydown from northern part of india to central, western or south/central regions. Similarly birds like Painted stork that used to migrate from north india can now be seen as parmanent residents of central indian regions like Madhya Pradesh.
