Lalit Shastri
At present, Lalit is covering Madhya Pradesh as Special Correspondent for The Asian Age. He has written extensively on development, environment, wildlife, and issues linked with civil society, governance, accountability and transparency in administration and public life.
Before joining The Asian Age, Lalit worked with The Hindu from Bhopal, capital of the Central Indian State of Madhya Pradesh for more than 16 years.
He has produced several wildlife documentaries and enjoyd the thrill of shooting, editing and composing music for his documentaries.

Lalit left a corporate job and spent more than a year studying the causes that led to the poisonous gas leak at the Union Carbide pesticide plant in Bhopal.The research findings were published in a book form in 1986. The book is titled "Bhopal Disaster—an eye witness account".
He authored the investigative reports on the status of Tigers titled "Vanishing Stripes-I" and "vanishing Stripes-II". He has also written the book--"Political Mirage—50 years after India became Republic".The book raises issues concerning civil society and deals with lacunae in the administrative system, especially corruption and lack of accountability.
