Tools & Equipment : How to watch birds
Very little equipment is required to enjoy bird watching. Just a good binocular or spotting scope would do.Things Required : Binocular, Field Guide and Note Book
Binocular:
Most important thing is a Binocular. Specifications like 10X50, 8X40 and 7X35 are used commonly. Here the first number is the magnification and the second number is the diameter of the larger lens in mm. Weight is also a factor. You might hang it around your neck for a long time. Their are certain other factors like hand and wind shake but the one that bothers most is the price. They need not to be too expensive but cheaper ones are also not good. Before buying a binocular, just try several pairs used by other birders and then choose the one which best suits you, your eyes and the wallet.
Telescope:
Help to get better views but are used by experienced birders who are familiar with common species and are looking for something beyond. A tripod is required with a scope but that makes a extra equipment to carry.
